Chris M. Marple

Music Education

Picture
I am a PhD candidate in the Music Education Program at the University of Iowa. I have attended state conferences in Missouri, Texas, Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Iowa. I have attended regional conventions in South Dakota, Maryland, Michigan, Indiana, Georgia and Iowa with international conferences in Prague, Czechia and Baku, Azerbaijan.

I am available for academic presentations or lectures for Music Education classes in the midwest. My current research track is persistence and attrition in secondary choral music. I am also able to discuss LGBTQ and transgender issues in the music rehearsal as an ally, the use of vibrato in choral music, verbal imagery and metaphors in the choral rehearsal, and the motivation of participation of the elderly in choral ensembles.

My CV is located below.
